Ramblings no. 8===D----(*)

What is it about music that makes it so appealing?

There is no natural primal response to it, because evolution -wise, music wouldn't exist because it has no survival purposes (although I know some of you who would beg to differ, but let's keep that discussion to another day).

I suppose music was created to try and imitate the sounds of nature.
The beat of any music can literally sometimes imitate the beating of your heart.
Perhaps this is really the way music magically moves us.
The lyrics are to give it meaning, to inspire a message (or at least, that was the intention),
the beat for us to remember it and keep it in our hearts.

For some of us, the heart (beat) matters more than the (brain) message.
And on every level, it's usually the songs that tug at both that make the best songs.

Let me fill you in on songs that I find good examples of this:
Justin Timberlake's - Losing My Way
Joss Stone's - Fell In Love With a Boy
Jack Johnson's - Banana Pancakes
LeAnn Rimes - How Do I Live Without You
Faith Hill - There You'll Be
and any song by I think is my current favorite artist of all time, Jay-Z.
of whom this post is actually dedicated to.
